This temple is at Kunjithaii in Paravoor thaluk, Ernakulam district. It is more than 75 years old. The elders of this area established this temple to provide a place for all people here to worship irrespective of the low or high castes to which they belonged. First, they formed “Sree Chithira Vala Samajam” in honour of King Sree Chithira Thirunal l Balarama Varma. They kept a photo of Lord Bala Subrahmanya Swami in a small temple built there. Later the members of the organisation built a bigger temple after filling up a pond nearby. The Lord was consecrated there and daily pujas were offered. This temple
more had to be rebuilt because cracks appeared on the structure most probably because it had been built on soft sand used to cover the pond. So, the present temple was built.
