This temple is at Puthuvaippu in the Vypin Islands of Ernakulam District. It is around 75 years old. A devout lady, Dakshayani Valiyamma used to live in this area around that time. When she prayed to the Almighty every morning looking towards the east, she used to see an effulgence in that area. She talked about it to the people there but nobody took it seriously. Then, she, with the help of her son, made a small thatched structure and kept a photo of Mahavishnu there. As she started worshipping there, those who passed that way also paid attention. They came to realise the presence of
more a woman there and went for an astrological consultation. In that consultation, it was revealed that there was a temple at that spot before the sea had eroded the area. So, Vishnu and Devi were consecrated there. Later at an astrological consultation after 12 years, Ganapathy, Ayyappan and Sree Narayana Guru were also consecrated there. It has been revealed that Siva and Bhadrakali also have to be consecrated here. But now one special pooja is offered for Sivan every year and for Bhadrakali on the third Friday of every month. During the first festival that was celebrated at the temple, sea turtles, in which form Maha Vishnu had taken an incarnation, came ashore accompanied by an unearthly brilliance.
