Edappurath Lakshmi Narasimha Temple

History

The temple is situated at Puthuruthy in Thrissur district. The remains like a huge Balikallu point to a proud big temple in the past. There is a Garbhagriha for the sanctum. The main idol is four feet high. The Mukha mandapam is close to the sanctum. Kshethrapalan is consecrated on either side of the sanctum. Ganapathy and Ayyappan are consecrated as subordinate deities. The Goddess is consecrated as Bhdrakalai.  Astrological findings point out that the Goddess had been brought here by a family in the ancient past. Nagaraja and Brahmarakshas are also consecrated. There are two lamps a post as well as a banyan tree with a built-up more base in front of the temple. There is a huge pond as well as a separate water body for the use of the main priest. The temple had huge landed properties but it was dilapidated. Now it is being renovated to its former glory.
