This temple is at Peruvayal
Panchayath in Kozhikode district. It is believed to be more than 1800 years
old. It is believed that Nranathu Bhranthan one of the sons of the legendary
Vararuchy, consecrated the idol. As the idol had a divine power, it was not
removed when the temple was renovated. Instead, it was covered with a Panchaloha
Golaka (a figure made of a combination of five metals). Panakam, a special
naivedyam is offered here every morning. The temple remains open from 6.30 to
8.30 every day. Special poojas and offerings are made on the first Thursday of
every Malayalam month.
