This ancient temple at Thiruvalla on the Kavumbhagam - Peringara road, is famous for the many unique features associated with it. This temple is mentioned in old Sanskrit literary works and dictates. It is believed to be older than the Sree Vallabha temple at Thiruvalla. Devotees believe that all the Gods and Goddesses bless this place with their presence subordinate deities are consecrated here. The pond on the eastern side of the sanctum is unique to this temple. Experts believe that the idol of Lord Ganapathy with four arms is special because of its sculptural beauty. This is believed to have been built according to
more the measurements given by Shilparatnam. Its antiquity has not been calculated. The main festival is Thirupantha Mahotsavam. Goddesses from Aalanthuruthy, Padappad, and Karunattukavu assemble at the temple of Maha Ganapathy. Gajapuja held in connection with this festival is very important. The temple has been rebuilt from its dilapidated state by a committee of local devotees.
