This temple is at Manalur, Kanjani in Thrissur District. The main deities are Thripura Sundari Devi and Ayyappa. The Thottampattu and Theeyatt for Lord Ayyappa, conducted here are very famous. Legends say that more than 720 years ago Ikoru Muthappan, the eldest member of the clan that claims to be the descendants of Viswakarmav, the celestial builder, came from Monnoorkulangara to Ponaloor by boat. His wife was also with him. Ikoru Muthappan was an expert in architecture, kalarippayattu, sorcery and astrology. He was an expert in the construction of temples. This made the King honour him and consider him as his friend. The King allowed him land more to make his house which came to be known as Chirayil house. They used to work with the members of the Vadakketathu Thamarapilly Mana to construct temples. As evidence of this association, an oar, used by the members of the Muthappan family who came from the north and kept at the Mana, was handed over to the descendants of these men. The dilapidated remains of the boat are also seen in the Mana. This oar is kept in the temple and worshipped to this day. The members of the Vadeketathu Mana are the main priests of this temple.
