This famous Bhagavati temple is situated near Edapal about 45 km from Thrissur towards Kozhikode and exactly 1 km east of Edapal junction. The famous Dakshinamoorthi temple is also located in the Sukapuram Gramam and a Siva temple is located very near to this Kulamkara Devi temple. Therefore, the Sukapuram Gramam has the blessings of these three famous temples. The main prathishta is Durga and two side prathishtas of Ayyappa and Ganapathi are also there. The main offerings are Udayasthamana pooja, Chuttu Vilakku, Guruthi, Pana and different types of Archanas. The temple will be open for darshan from 5.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and 5
more p.m. to 8.30 p.m. The important festival is the Annual Thalapoli on 1" Sunday of Makaram'. This Thalappoli will be the conclusion of 14 days of "Thol Pava Kooth' a rare ancient Kalaroopam (artistic performance) and Sreerama Pattabishekam. The next important day is on the last Sunday of Kumbham. This day there will be a pana, a rare Vazhipadu for Bhagavathi which is conducted by the temple committee. There will be vazhipadu panas also every year. The next important day is star Chothi of Midhunam which is the prathishta dinam of Bhagavathi. There will be many programmes on this day including Annadanam to nearly 2000 devotees. The other important programme is Annadanam on every 'Chothi' of all Malayalam months. The expenses for this annadanam will be met by individuals. Other festivals are Ganesotsavam every September, Sangeetholsavam on every Navarathri etc. The Administrative Committee consisting of 35 members are elected from the Annual General Body meeting to be held in April every year.
