This is a famous temple at Vaikom in Kottayam District. It is situated between Vaikom Mahdeva Temple and Udayanapuam Subrahmanya Temple. According to legends, one Brahmin belonging to the Monatt Mana, responsible for this temple, once did penance to the Goddess at the Mookuthala Devi temple. Pleased with his devotion, the Goddess came with him on his umbrella. The Goddess was first consecrated at the Brahmin’s house and later at this temple.
