Muthrukunnu Bhagavathi Temple, also known as Manjeri Kunnthambalam, is a 2,000-year-old temple in Malappuram district, Kerala. Dedicated to Bala Durga, the child form of Goddess Durga, this heritage temple boasts ancient architecture and customs. The temple's serene atmosphere is complemented by its beautiful stairway, which leads to a pond filled with white lily flowers. However, visitors should be cautious as the stairs can become slippery when wet. The temple is surrounded by traditional Illams (Brahmin homes) and lush greenery, adding to its tranquil ambience. Male devotees are required to wear a Mundu (white lungi) and females must wear a saree
more or churidar to enter the temple. Despite its historic charm, there is a need for better maintenance. The temple is also historically linked to the old Manjeri Kovilakam, further enhancing its cultural significance.
