This temple is in Karivellur, in the Kannur district. Parasurama is believed to have performed the consecration of this temple. It has got all the factors to mark it as a Maha Kshethram. Ganapathy and Shastha are consecrated to the right of Lord Mahadeva while there is a consecration of Krishna outside. There is a huge Koothambalam to the left of the temple. Koothu is one of the main offerings made here. The temple belongs to the Chirakkal royal family. The Kshethra Samrakshana Samithy and the festival committee work very effectively. Traditionally the lamp for the Perumkaliyattam of Muchilottu Bhagavathy is taken from this temple.
