This temple is at Panavally in the Alappuzha district. The presiding deity is Goddess Bhadrakali. This family temple is believed to be more than 700 years old. People from the locality and other places come to worship the pujas, which are conducted every Friday and on the 1st of the Malayalam month. According to a legend, the Gurunathan went to Azhvanchery mana on a plantain leaf over water, rowing with a writing stick (Naaraayam) and brought the idol of the Goddess after giving 501 gold coins. Along with the Goddess, many powerful deities also came to this place, they are all consecrated more here. The main speciality is the Guruthy and the Vadakkupurathu paattu performed after observing austerities for 42 days on the 1st of Dhanu when the Guruthy is performed at the Kodungaloor Bhagavathy temple. On the 30th of Thulam, a special ritual of offering Daham to all the powers present is performed. For this Shaketheya form of the Koula ritual is followed. The main consecration is Narayanan Kannanji Gurunathan. All rituals start with offering puja to this consecration. Goddess Bhadrakali, worshipped by Gurunathan is consecrated as the main deity.
