This temple is at Puthupally Lane, near Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram. The term Paradevatha temple reminds one of Goddess Bhadrakali. The legend connected with it says that Lord Parameswara wanted Bhadrakali to stay on the earth to bless the devotees after she had destroyed the evil forces. Then according to the command of Lord Parameswara, many temples were built and the Goddess was consecrated in these temples as the Paradevatha. The Goddess is seen as Chamundi among the Saptha mathrukkal (the seven forms of the Goddess) as Kali who Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara worshipped and as the daughter of Lord Siva for killing the demon Darika.
