This is one of the most prominent serpent temples located at Kottakulangara in Alappuzha. The presiding deity here is Sree Bhoothakala Nagayakshi. History reveals that the area where the temple is located belonged to a Namboothiri family. When they migrated to another place, they vested the ownership of the land with a prominent Nair family named Aranattu Valyaparambu. Later this family built the temple for the serpent deities and Kalari Bhadrakali.
