Maruthu Kavu is an ancient temple at Lakkaattor in the Kottayam district. The Lord and the Goddess are consecrated here facing the East and the West with equal importance. Bhuvaneswari, Nanabhadradevi, Dhanwanthiri, Sidhibudhi Ganapathy and Nagas are also consecrated there. The presence of Krishna sarpam in the grove dedicated to the serpents is a unique feature of this temple.
