This temple is situated at the foot of the Banasura mountains in Wayanad. This is the second temple in Kerala with the Panchalingeswara concept. It is the only temple in Wayanad with Lord Siva, Vishnu, and Bhagavathy in Shadaadhaara consecration. It is believed to be connected through a tunnel to the Thengarkketta Pullimalamma temple 6 kilometres away. The Kurichiya community have been closely associated with this temple.
