Mannumpuram Sree Mahadeva Temple

History

This ancient Mahadeva temple is situated at Mothirakanni on the eastern banks of the Chalakudy River. It is believed that the temple was established at the beginning of Kaliyuga. The remains of the temple that stood there 1800 years ago were rebuilt according to the measurements of the ruined temple. There are three sancta in the same walled compound. In the middle one Parameswara with Parvathy is consecrated as Vettekaran, On the right side is Dakshnamoorthy, the preceptor of all. On the left side is MahaVishnu as Santhanagopala Moorthy facing the east.  All three sancta are built on Sree Chakras.
