Additionally, an idol of Mahavishnu shares the same pedestal, leading to the deity being revered as Ammenarayana, Devinarayana, Lakshminarayana, and Bhadrenarayana. The temple also houses idols of Brahma, Shiva, Ganapathi (Ganesh), Subramanya, and Sastha on the same pedestal. The temple complex includes the Nana Durga temple and shrines for other deities, including Ganapathi and Nagas.
more The serene atmosphere of the temple offers mental peace and harmony to devotees, attracting many pilgrims who seek relief from the burdens of material life. One of the most significant offerings to the Goddess is Pongala Dedication. When Pongala is offered in the presence of the Goddess, it is believed to bring good fortune to virgins, and bridesmaids, and ensure the benefits of a good son, while removing evils and fostering auspicious thoughts. According to legend, the centuries-old Chakkamparambu Bhagavathi Temple was built by the devotee Muthappan. The Nana Durga Temple, part of the Chakkamparambu complex, is believed to date back to prehistoric times. During the renovation, the Nana Durga Temple was rebuilt on Krishna rock, and the Kumbha Bharani festival was completed. Traditionally, the people of Karumalur visit Pantheerazhi as their main offering. Historically, only men have participated in the ceremonies of the fierce Nana Durga. The temple also stands as a testament to Kerala's concept of sacred forests.
