Changa Devi temple stands on the southern banks of the Karamana River near Vellanadu, blending legend, faith, and history into its sacred grounds. Evolving into a revered pilgrimage site, it is believed to harbour the protective presence of Goddess Kali, ensuring the welfare of the village. Her benevolent countenance is said to underpin the prosperity and well-being of the entire region. Once a remote and undeveloped countryside hamlet, Changa was primarily inhabited by farmers and cattle rearers. Residents held steadfast faith in Kali Devi, attributing their relief and fortunes to her watchful gaze. Their unwavering belief in Kali Devi deepened with each passing day, passed down through more generations. Their testimonials of solace and success spread to neighbouring villages, drawing pilgrims seeking blessings to the Changa Devi temple. Under the guidance of astrologers and temple priests, devotees initiated architectural renovations and expansions, accommodating additional deities within the temple precincts. These enhancements further bolstered people's faith and amplified the temple's renown, attracting devotees from distant locales. Thus, over time, Changa Devi temple blossomed into the revered pilgrimage destination it is today. Offerings at the temple, known as "Vara," follow the Brahminical tradition of worship.
