This temple is at Kuthanur, Palakkad. Hundreds of years ago, a woman worshipped an idol made of mud. Later no one was there to offer poojas to this idol. When calamities continued to trouble the residents continuously, they consecrated an idol of stone, made a kavu or forest around it and offered poojas there. The presence of the Goddess was felt there and the residents benefitted from her blessings.
