This temple is near Nellipuzha Bridge in Mannarghat Thaluk in Palakkad district. It is believed to be more than a thousand years old. It is believed that it was a sanyasi wearing a bow and an arrow that first saw the holy effulgence here. According to popular belief, it might have been one of the Pandavas or Sree Rama as he was going about searching for Sita. The self-originated idol faces the West.
