This ancient temple is situated at Kurathikadu near Mavelikara. Bhadrakali is the main deity consecrated there. The legend connected with this temple speaks about an elderly male member of the Pullelil Natayil family. Centuries ago, he used to stay for worship at the Ayiroor Puthiyakavu Devi temple at Pathanamthitta while going to Sabarimala. It is believed that the goddess took the form of a calf and followed this venerable devotee to the place where the temple stands today. This Yogiswara has been consecrated in this temple as a subordinate deity. The management of the temple is by a committee of the members of the Pullelil Natayil family. There more is an Ammoommakavu connected to this temple. Pregnant ladies visit the Goddess and Ammoommakavu and keep a stone from there with them throughout pregnancy. This is believed to offer protection to the mother and the child. Once the rice-giving ceremony of the child is over, it is brought to the temple and the stone is kept back in the temple compound.
