Chandragiri Sree Sastha Temple in Keezhur is situated near the historic Chandragiri fort, approximately 6 kilometres away from Kasargod town in Kasargod District. Legend has it that the temple was initially dedicated to Kuthira Kali Amma. However, Sastha, the presiding deity of the Chandrangada king, arrived at the scene, leading to a confrontation between the two deities. Eventually, it was decided that both deities would coexist and participate in the festivities at the Thrikkaniavu Temple. In ancient times, this temple was under the patronage of the Chirakkal kings.
