Nayarambalam Sree Subramanya Temple, also known as Kochambalam, is situated in Nayarambalam, Kochi, Kerala. This sacred site is devoted to Subrahmanya or Muruga, and it hosts the annual Thaipooyam festival, a significant celebration in the region. The temple was established by Brahma Shri Yogananda Paramahamsar, who was a contemporary of Sri Narayana Guru. Initially, it was a makeshift shrine, hence earning the name Kochambalam. The decision to build a permanent temple arose when some devotees approached Gurudev during his visit to Chira. Upon hearing their plea, Gurudev prophesied that a Swami would arrive in seven days to oversee the temple's establishment. True to his word, a Swami
more appeared shortly thereafter, having performed penance in the vicinity. Through his divine presence, he healed ailments and addressed the supplications of the locals. It is said that he instructed them to erect the temple precisely where he spat involuntarily. Thus, the temple was erected in that very location as per his directive.
