Thrikkangode Randumoorthy Temple, located in the Palakkad district, houses two principal deities within its inner sanctum Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Renowned for its exquisite wood carvings and sculptures, the Sree Randu Moorthy Temple is believed to be one of the sacred sites established by Lord Parasurama in Kerala. This ancient temple, however, fell into obscurity and remained hidden within the forest for countless centuries until it was rediscovered by two Aadivasis named Chakki and Chaathan. Legend has it that while these individuals were cutting tree barks with their sickles, they inadvertently struck the idols, causing them to bleed. Astrologers confirmed that the discovered idols were representations of Shiva and Vishnu, prompting the construction of a temple at the site to honour them. Thus, the Thrikkangode Randumoorthy Temple stands as a testament to this divine revelation and continues to be revered by devotees for its spiritual significance. This temple is believed to be one of the temples installed by Lord Parasuraman in Kerala.
