This temple is one of the most important among the 108 famous Durga temples in Kerala. It is believed to be more than 2000 years old. Goddess Durga is consecrated as the gentle Goddess Karthyayani here in a sanctum facing the east. The temple is under the Thekke madom in Thrissur. The idol is depicted with four hands.
