Gandariamman Kovil, situated in
Thiruvananthapuram, has an intriguing legend attached to its origin. It is said
that the skilled artisans from Gandhara Desham, who were involved in
constructing the Padmanabhaswami temple in Thiruvananthapuram, resided in the
vicinity where the Gandariamman Kovil now stands. Here, they devoutly
worshipped Gandari Amman, their revered Goddess. Over time, a temple was
erected to honour her presence. Reflecting the Tamil architectural style, the
temple carries a cultural significance comparable to the Padmanabhaswami
temple. According to folklore, the name Gandari was bestowed upon the Goddess
due to her association with music, emphasizing her love for this art form. The
