This temple is situated at Muthukurissi, at the base of Vakkodan mountain in Mannarghat Thaluk in Palaghat district. Lord Siva as Kirathamoorthy is the main deity consecrated here facing the west. The temple is believed to be more than 800 years old. Lord Siva is believed to have appeared before Arjuna to destroy his ego and the Lord then presented Arjuna with the Paashupathaasthra.
