Sree Thalikkunu Maha Shiva Temple in Kozhikode is among the oldest temples in Malabar. Despite facing numerous attacks, the temple currently falls under the patronage of His Highness Zamorin of Calicut. Notably, various significant temples in Kozhikode and its vicinity, including Thali, Thiruvannur, Varackal, Puthur, and Govindapuram, suffered destruction during Tipu Sultan's military campaigns.
