This is a pilgrim centre for devotees of all castes and creeds where the offering of two coconuts is believed to bring in the blessings of the deities. This is the only temple where Sree Mahalakshmi Devi and Sree Pratyangira Devi are consecrated and installed together. Sree Mahalakshmi can be seen on the right and Sree Pratyangira Devi on the left. The five deities Sree Mahalakshmi Devi, Sree Budhi Sidhi Ganapathy, Sree Vishnu Bhagavan, Sree Kubera Bhagavan and Sree Brahma Devan are consecrated in the same Sanctum Sanctorum thus enabling the lakhs of devotees who visit the temple to worship and be blessed by them all more at the same time. They are blessed with the fulfilment of all desires, prosperity and wealth. For Mahalakshmi Devi, who is the deity to be worshipped for wealth and prosperity, Karyasidhi Pooja is offered every day. This is believed to fulfil the desires that the devotee nurtures in the mind. If Mahalakshmi Devi, who is one among the Ashta Lakshmis is worshipped with devotion, all difficulties associated with poverty will be removed. On the full moon day, rituals like Mahalakshmi Pooja, Durga Pooja and Kumkumabhishekam for Sree Mahalakshmi commence at 5.00 in the evening. Another important offering for Mahalakshmi Devi is the Ashtabhishekam. Friday is the most auspicious day for worshipping Sree Mahalakshmi Devi. Sree Pratyangira Devi is believed to ward off all evil effects of black magic practised by one’s enemies. Hence Sree Pratyangira Devi is worshipped for protection from such mishaps. The most important offering for Pratyangira Devi is Pratyangira Homam which is believed to save the devotee from the adversity caused by the unfavourable position of the planets, possession by evil spirits, effects of the evil eye and the adverse effect of the black magic performed by one’s enemies. Individuals and even the country can be protected from such evil effects by the performance of this Homam. Devotees can offer the Maha Pratyangira Homam or the Lakhu Pratyangira Homam to please the Goddess. The Maha Pratyangira Homam is performed over three days while the Lakhu Pratyangira Homam is performed in one day. Special Poojas are offered to Pratyangira Devi on Tuesdays and new moon days. Sathru Samhara Maha Pratyangira Homam is performed on new moon days at 8.30 am. On that day Kumkumabhishekam is offered to Pratyamgira Devi at 6.00 in the evening. Maha Guruthi Pushpanjali is also offered at this time. Breaking the coconut, which is the most important offering for Pratyangira Devi can be offered every day. This is believed to be most effective if performed on the new moon day.
