It is only very rarely that we see a temple dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi. This is because it is believed that Goddess Mahalakshmi does not stay in one place for long. This temple is at Chovoor in Thrissur district. It is a self-originated effulgence that appeared at Karipperi Mana in Pulanikkaatu. The consecration was conducted in 1975 and re consecration in 1996. In 2019 the idol of Goddess Mahalakshmi with four hands, was consecrated in a newly built temple. This is also one of the few temples that follow the Sree Vidya Thanthram given by Jagadguru Sree Shankaracharya.
