Edakkad Sree Mahavishnu Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is situated in Nadal, Kannur district. The temple, known as Edakkad Chalil Vishnumurthy Temple, holds a significant place in history, having been a Mahakshetram during ancient times. The temple is located 11 km from Kannur town, and its sanctum faces east. Constructed using red stone, the main deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu in the form of Narasimhamoorty. In addition to the primary deity, the sanctum also houses idols of Lord Ganapathy, Lord Ayyappa, Dakshinamoorty, and Parasurama. There is a separate shrine for Lord Ayyappa located outside the sanctum. The idols, carved from black rock stone,
more are adorned with silk attire and garlanded with Thulsi leaves. A notable feature of the temple is the 'Kedavilakku,' a perpetual lamp that remains lit at all times, located outside the main sanctum. Devotees offer oil to this lamp as part of their worship to Lord Vishnu. The temple has two doors, with one opening to the main road and the other to the temple pond.
