This temple, originally belonging to the Kunjilakkattil family, has transformed into a significant place of worship today, drawing devotees beyond the family's boundaries. The Tharananaloor Mana initially venerated the deity. The Kunjilakkattil family held a prominent position in the locality, serving as the Thandan, mediating and ensuring justice in local disputes. During a period when Ezhavas were prohibited from worshipping certain deities, the Tharananaloor Mana bestowed the deity of Sree Annapoorneshwari upon them. Initially, worship took place at Mullathara. Subsequently, the family acquired land and constructed the temple. Notably, the temple's design and construction were overseen by Kanipayoor Krishnan Namboodiripad, who employed his workers a distinction rarely
more granted to a family temple. The presiding deity is Goddess Annapoorneshwari, with Ganapathy, Hanuman, Sivan, Brahmarakshas, and Chathan Swami consecrated as subordinate deities.
