Vazhenkada Sree Narasimha Moorthi Temple boasts a rich history dating back to the fourteenth century, although many details of its early years remain shrouded in mystery. According to a local myth, the temple's idol was once worshipped by Lord Hanuman at kadali-vanam. Originally under the ownership of Kongatt Malliseri mana, Alanellur Pattallur mana, and Thamarappalli mana (now extinct), the temple now operates under the care of the remaining two families. The eldest member from these families holds the position of Trustee, with the hereditary Trustee from the Mallisseri mana serving as the Managing Trustee. The temple's administration is carried out by a Manager appointed by the hereditary Trustees, more with the approval of the Malabar Devaswam Board (formerly the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowment Department) of the state. Nestled in a scenic background, the temple is situated 13 km southeast of Perinthalamanna and 8 km from Cherpulasseri.
