Bharanangaanam Sreekrishnaswamy temple is about 5km away from Paal in Kottayam district. It is believed that the idol of the Lord with four arms made of Krishnanjana stone was consecrated here by the eldest Pandava in the Dwapara Yuga. A similar idol is seen only at Guruvayoor. The three hundred-year-old Aal vilakku that does not cause any shadows and the figures of the Ashtadikpaalakas on the ceiling of the Balikkalpura are unique to this temple.
