Pachalloor Sree Kulathinkara Bhadrakali Devi Temple is a venerable shrine, with over six centuries of history, where Goddess Sree Bhadrakali, the benevolent and guiding deity, resides and presides. Located in Pachallor, which is situated 7 kilometers south of Trivandrum city, this temple is steeped in legend and lore. According to the ancient tale, even after the demise of the demon king 'Daarikan,' the wrath of Goddess Bhadrakali continued to surge. Left unchecked, it posed a threat to the entire universe. In response to this impending calamity, the Gods came together and sought the intervention of Lord Shiva, who was the creator of Goddess Bhadrakali. Lord Shiva,
more in a selfless act, positioned himself in the path of the furious Goddess Bhadrakali. Upon encountering her creator and father, the Goddess's anger subsided. Lord Shiva blessed Bhadrakali and beseeched her to bestow her divine presence upon her devotees with tranquility and harmony. As the legend narrates, the name "Pachalloor" evolved from "Paka chonnayoor" over the passage of time, marking this sacred place as a testament to this enduring myth.
