This temple situated at Eroor
in Ernakulam district, is better known as Santhana Gopala swamy temple. It is
believed to have been consecrated by Arjuna on his return from Vaikunta after
retrieving the 10 children of a Brahmin. Legend says that Lord Mahavishnu gave
Arjuna two Salagrama and he consecrated one of them here. The temple is
considered unique as the idol of Santhanagopala Moorthy was installed here in
the presence of Lord Krishna by Arjuna. The Puliyanoor Thanthri family are
believed to be the descendants of the Brahmin family to which Arjuna had
returned the 10 children.
