This temple is at Irumpanam in Kochi. It is near the Hill Palace Museum. It is believed that it was discovered by Sage Vyaghrapada. The idol is self-originated and remains under water. The temple was constructed by a king of Cochin. The paved path for circumambulation is strong enough to withstand the weight of elephants walking on it even though it is made without using cement. It is constructed using white pebbles, burned wood, burned coconut shells, lime and jaggery. The outer wall of the temple is built like the one around the Poornathrayeesa temple at Tripunithura.
