Kazhakuttom Sree Mahadeva Temple Situated at Kazhakuttom in Thiruvananthapurm Sree Mahadeva Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to be dated back to the 14th century. Nearest railway station is Thiruvananthapuram Central. The temple is located on the eastern side of NH 47 at a distance of 18 km north of Trivandrum. The name of the temple seems to have emerged from the progenitor of the temple, Kalakkoth maharishi (sage). Archaeologists have assigned a date of 9th century to the sthanaka murti of Vishnu in the sub-shrine located in the north east corner of the campus.
