This temple is situated at Chenganoor Taluk in Alapuzha District. This is believed to have been constructed during the time of Cheraman Perumal. It has all the parts that mark it as a Maha Kshethram. The main deity is Lord Balasubrahmanya. The deity faces the east in a circular sanctum. The temple was under the King of Kayamkulam. It had a lot of landed property given by the King and the devotees. After the Land Reforms Act came into force it became difficult to maintain the temple.
