Lord is seen in his cosmic form for 18 days in a year. This starts on the 1st of the Malayalam month of Dhanu and continues for 18 days. This is connected with the Kurukshethra war during which the Lord showed his cosmic form to Arjuna on the battle field. Another interesting feature of this temple is the presence of a golden tortoise in the temple pond. It is believed that a Yogi who was connected with the consecration of the temple took birth as the golden tortoise. This was first seen in September 2016.
