On the side of Neyyattinkara Parassala road Parassuvaikkal stop in Parassala panchayath of Trivandrum district is the Parasuvaikkal Bhagavathy Temple with self of grown Vigraha in stone without any shape, of Moorthy Durga. Facing west, it is believed a harigan lady found this vigraha when the stone bleed from her knife. There are three rites and thanthram is Naduvilakath Madam. Sub deities are Chempakamootil Bhagavathy, Ganapathy, Nagam etc. Festival is for 10 days and Kodiyettam is on Karthika star of Meenam month. For seven days there will be Kalamezhuthum Pattum (Drawings made with flours traditionally made and traditional songs praising the God). The temple was constructed more during the time of Madambies (a designation given to leaders of certain areas during olden days). Now ruled by Travancore Devaswam Board.
