Sree Mangode Bhagavathy Temple

History

This is a very sacred and important pilgrim centre of Kerala. This famous bhagavathy temple is located just 100 meters away from Mangode stop on the Palakkad Cherpulassery route. It is believed to be about 500 years old. The presiding deity is Sree Bhadrakali. Ganapathy is also worshiped here as sub-deity. Sree Kakkurussi Siva Temple, the sub-temple of Mangode Bhagavathy temple is located very nearby. It is just 1.5 kms south-west from the Mangode temple. Lord Ayyappan, Subrahmaniyan, Ganapathy, Nagaraja,Parvathy, Brahmarakshus etc are also worshiped here. Raktapushpanjali for eraducating the evils from enemies Kadina Payasam for removing all more hindrances, Kalampattu, Dhara, Sree Rudradhara, Mrityunjahomam, Karukahomam, Uma-Maheswara Pooja etc. are the main offerings in the temple. Mandalam Thalapoli, Installation day, pooram etc. are celebrating grandly. Installation day is celebrated in the month of Makaram during the star Avittam. Pooram celebrations are in the month of Meenam during the star Punartham. There will be more than 50 elephants participating in the days long great festival. On the festival days lots of famous traditional artists perform here. During the festival days, devotees from various places arrive and participate with full hearted belief in Devi.
