This temple is at Porathussery Panchayath in
Thrissur District. Lord Siva is consecrated as two deities, Vadakkum Thevar and
Thekkum Thevar, with equal importance. The Thekkum Thevar is the bigger one but
more Naivedyam is offered to the Vadakkum Thevar. Three pujas are offered to
Vadakkum Thevar while two pujas are offered to Thakkum Thevar. Both deities
face the east. Subordinate deities are Shasthaavu, Goshalakrishnan and
Ganapathy. The mud in the outlet of water from the sanctum here is believed to
have medicinal properties against poison. The temple is under the Cochin
Devaswom Board.
