Shathrukhna Swami Temple Methiri

History

primary shrine is crafted from sturdy stone and adorned with intricate engravings. The deity worshiped here is believed to be Shatrugna until noon, and then transforms into 'Santana Gopalan' afterwards. Due to this unique aspect, the sacred pilgrimage (nalambalam) to honor the deities of Rama, Lakshmana, Bharatha, and Shatrughna must be completed before noon (ucha pooja). One of the most captivating features of the temple is the 3D depiction of tales from the Ramayana, skillfully engraved on the outer walls of the main shrine, which adds to its immense charm.
