This temple, believed to be more than 2000
years old, is at Thalloor in Thrikkoor village, Thrissur district. The idol of
Shasta is believed to have been consecrated by Lord Aaditya. The rays of the
setting sun fall on the face of the idol every day. Devotees consider this
temple especially beneficial for the cure of diseases of the eyes. They
offer eyes made of silver or gold and pour the holy water from the temple in
the eyes. The Ilanganalloor mana manages the affairs of the temple. For the
Punartham vilakku, Chathakudam Shasthav, Chittychathakudam Shasthav,
Thaikkattussery Bhagavathy, and Idakkunny Bhagavathy come together. On star

Mahadeva temple and Chakamkulangara Shastha are performed together. Shastha,
seen as the son of Lord Mahadeva receives pattum valayum from the father as a
sign of permission to participate in the Pooram.
