The history of Palakkal Bagavathi Temple dates back many years when a saintly man arrived at this place. He began worshipping the great Parashakthi in the form of the holy Sreechakra. The goddess Shakthi appeared before him and then vanished, leaving behind the powerful Kala as the source of her divine power. After the time of the holy man, the temple came under the control of the Mandalika family, and they started worshipping the goddess in the form of Badrakali. When the reign of the Mandalika family ended, the Brahmins took charge of the temple and continued worshiping the goddess in the form of Durgadevi. This
