This ancient temple of North Malabar is said to be 800 years old. It is situated in Kannur district and the place is known as Koduvalli along the Thalassery-Kannur route. The main deity is Bhagavathy believed to be the three Shakthis contained together as Kali, Saraswathi and Lakshmi. The idol faces the east and there poojas are performed. The Upadevata is Kundur Kotta Vanavan. The festival of this temple is in the month of Medam starting from 9th day and ends on 12th. It is said that the Devi was brought from Vamal to the present temple through various religious rites and installed here. Even to this day all the morning poojas are performed here and after the noon pooja the remaining poojas are performed at Vamal. The Vamal temple is situated on the seashore. Here Kalasham is performed.In the month of Chinga during the star Utradam, Niraputhiri.is offered. Chuttu Vilakku is offered specially on Dhanu 10th. In the month of Makara during the Star Uthradam is celebrated as Naga Prathishta day. In the month of Avittom is also celebrated as the re-installation day. Vishu Kani is on Medom 1st. During Navarathri days Saraswathi Pooja and Vidyarambham are also conducted. Archana, Pushpanjali, Raktha Pushpanjali, Trikala Pushpanjali, Swayamvara Pushpanjali, Vehicle Pooja, Niramala, Abhishekam, Palpayasam etc are the major offerings here.
