This famous temple is at Kaakkaathuruthi,
Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district. The Goddess is consecrated as Bhadrakali. It
is proclaimed that reciting the paeans of the Gods and Goddess is the way to
fulfillment of desires and attainment of Moksha in the Kali Yuga. This is
followed to the letter in this temple. Devotees consider it as the common man’s
temple. The most important offering of Poomoodal is conducted on star
Thiruvathira in the Malayalam month of Dhanu.
