This
temple at Paravoor in Ernakulam district is believed to be 600 to 800 years
old. The ruler of Paravoor belonging to Pindinivattath Swaroopam is said to
have constructed it. Legend says that the Peruvaram Mahakshethra was
constructed by the Devas in one night.Lord Siva is consecrated on the eastern
side and Sree Pravathy on the western side of thesame sanctum. There is only
one door to the sanctum though it is divided into two by astone wall. It was
