This temple is at Neyyattinkara in Thiruvananthapuram district, on the eastern banks of the Neyyaar river. The main deity in the sanctum, Mahadeva is facing the east with Ganapathy on the right and Parvathy facing west. It is believed that this area was a forest and the deity was consecrated here by Sree Rama when he was going in search of Sita. There is also the belief that the Linga consecrated here was brought from Rameswaram. There are three main pujas every day. The main priest is from the Thukalassery Kuzhikkat Mana. The festival of ten days ends on the star Thiruvathira in the Malayalam more month of Dhanu. Pongala is offered to Sree Parvathy on the day of Sivarathri. On the day of Karkidaka vavu (new moon day in the Malayalam month of Karkidakam) oblations to the dead ancestors is offered at the river near the temple. Both these attract lots of people.
